Shanna Renee 1971 - 2009
Shanna Renee Standifird Smith
Shanna Renee Standifird Smith, 38, died of natural causes on June 19, 2009 in Mesa.
She was born May 17, 1971 in Phoenix to Ruby and Robert Buck Standifird. She was raised on a farm in Idaho where she gained a love and appreciation for animals of every kind.
In 1985, Mrs. Smith moved to Mesa with her family. She graduated in 1990 from Mountain View High School, and later completed her dental hygiene training at Apollo College, where she graduated at the top of her class.
She loved singing and was exceptionally talented. She sang professionally at the Chipeta Opry in Ouray, Colo. and at a number of local events over the years. She had a deep appreciation for vintage western music. She loved God and served him by serving his children. She did a great deal of volunteer work at her daughter’s school and she especially enjoyed serving those with special needs. She also enjoyed reading, and cooking Mexican food. However, the great love of her life was her three beautiful daughters.
She was married to Michael Amos and later to Cory Smith. These unions blessed her with her three daughters, Crystal, Cami and Cali of Mesa.
She is survived by her daughters and parents, Ruby Standifird of Payson, and Buck Standifird of Taylor; brothers, Barry (Lori) Standifird of Payson and Chad (Polly) Standifird of Gilbert; grandmother, Mildred Curtis of Nampa, Idaho; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was greatly loved and will be missed until reunited.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 27, with a viewing beginning at 9 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10236 S. Greenfield Road, Gilbert, AZ 85234 (located north of Elliott).

A Letter From Jeffy
I had to post this: Little Jeffy wrote this to me when I went to girls camp probably around ’83 – ’84 time frame. Obviously my Mom made him write it and the only reason he really did it was because he knew that at camp if you got a letter you would have to get up and sing a song. He was a lil devil even back then. One thing is for sure, he is “Sunsier”….

Dum Natalie, I hope you are having fun. We are going to the movies from the scriptures. You are going to have to sing a song. And besides Mom made me write this. Ha Ha Natalie has to sing a song.
